Although Denise grew up in California (Santa Monica and later, St. Helena), she is an Oregon native. She has always loved animals and had many pets in her life ranging from reptiles to birds but dogs always held top billing. Denise’s work in rescue began with Giani, a very abused beagle, who she adopted when she was 7 months old. Please take a moment to read her story under “Meet Our Mascot.” It is because of this dog that Cascade Beagle Rescue exists. In starting her work in rescue she quickly realized there was no standardization; no organizations in place to specifically help rescue organizations grow, develop and succeed, so she founded the Animal Rescue Association of America.

Lowell is a native Oregonian who joined the CBR team in 2007 as our web developer. In 2010, Lowell took on the daunting task of organizing ”Beagle Palooza”, a fundraiser event that became an annual event for several years.
Additionally he has fostered beagles in need. In fact, Porsche, Joey and Bhel, 3 CBR Alum beagles, found their forever homes with Lowell & Nik. The undying dedication to our organization was instrumental in the election of Lowell to the Board of Directors in 2010 and is still serving.

Stephanie has had Beagles since 1984 – 10 to be exact. She and her husband, Gary, have two beagles, Mojo and Sparky. Steph is very active in the sport of Dog Agility and has numerous titles at the Masters level. Steph, Gary and Denise started Cascade Beagle Rescue in March of 2005. She is now retired but is still active in rescue and agility. She is a stickler for details and has kept organized to a fault. In some of her CBR roles, she processes adoption applications, entered every dog and records into the database and our banking. In her role as board president, she is a guiding light.
